Hello!
We are Bianca, Irena, Susy, and Annisa from International Relation Bina Nusantara University. We'd like to share our experience about our project to you all! Our project is about ACFTA (ASEAN-China Free Trade Area). For your info, ACFTA was start on January 1st 2010 to be exact. What is it? It is a free trade area between ten countries as members of ASEAN and Republic of China. One of their agreements was to reduce the tariffs for goods.
We start our journey from our department. We have to ask our lecturer to give us recommendation letters which we'll use to interview the speakers. On Tuesday, May 3rd, 2014 we went to our IPE's lecturer, Mr. Tirta Mursitama to discuss about what we are going to do and about our topic. Days later, after we got the letters, we immediately went to the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia on Wednesday, May 28th, 2014. When we got there, we couldn't meet the speaker directly, so after waiting for almost one hour, finally we could meet our speaker, Mr. Andri Gilang. On the same day, we went to Mangga Dua, a mall in Central Jakarta. It's famous for the wholesale for clothes, shoes, accesories, and many more. Most of the goods/commodities being sold there were imported from china. It was a proof that ACFTA is working for our trade. Actually, we met an obstacle when we were going to interview the seller. Many of them rejecting our request to asked them about ACFTA but fortunately, we found one seller that willing to be interviewed.
On Friday, May 30th, 2014, We had plan to go to SMESCO (Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives) to interview our next speaker but fortunately, when we went to Binus University, there were a booth from SMESCO because there were a festival about enterpreneurship in Binus and seemed like, it was our lucky day because the speaker we want to interview was there! The interview went well and the speaker was really cooperative, so she made it easier for us.
Finally, this is our short documentary film about ACFTA . Enjoy watching ! :3
